Irish Stew Recipe
Recipe for Irish Stew3/4 cup chopped onions
2 lbs. Lamb, cubed
bay leaf
2 cups meat stock
margarine
2 teaspoon thyme
salt and pepper to taste
2 cups peeled, cubed potatoes
Saute onions in small amount of margarine till soft in stew pot. Combine all other ingredients in pot. Bring to mild boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for about 1 hour until lamb is done. 4 Servings.
Recipe for Irish Beef Stew1/2 tsp pepper
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
2 cups diced carrots
2 lbs stewing beef, cubed
2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans tomato soup
1 tsp salt
2 cups diced potatoes
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can water
Place all ingredients in slow cooker.
Cook on low 8-10 hours.
Stewing beef does not have to be prebrowned.
Crock Pot Irish Stew Recipe1 (20 ounce) can green peas
2 whole bay leaves
2 1/2 tsp salt
3 cups water
1/4 tsp pepper
3 lb lamb, cubed, drained and browned
6 medium potatoes, quartered
2 garlic cloves, Crushed
4 small onions, Sliced Thin
3 tbsp dried parsley flakes
1/3 cup quick-cooking tapioca
4 medium carrots
Place the lamb cubes in the slow cooker.
Season with pepper and salt.
Add all the remaining ingredients except the peas. Stir well.
Cover and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours.
Add the peas during the last hour of cooking.
